Futuro Simple – irregular verbs

¿Podrás venir mañana?

Your knowledge of Futuro Simple would be incomplete without irregular verbs. Their number is not as large as in Presente or even in Indefinido. So, it won’t be hard to remember them all.

Irregular verbs in Futuro Simple are almost like the regular ones, but before the ending some letters can be missing, or added, for phonetical convenience.

No podré ayudarte – I’ll not be able to help you

Lo sabremos más tarde – We’ll know it later

Mis amigos vendrán por la tarde – My friends will come in the evening

Mónica saldrá a pasear con el niño – Monica will go out for a walk with the child

Esta caja no cabrá en el coche – This box will not fit in the car

Who will come?

Irregular verbs have regular endings. What changes is the verb’s stem. This is what you need to memorize first. You can try to remember the first forms (yo) only, and then, changing the ending, you’ll be able to put the verb into whatever person you need.

There is another important verb you should know.

haber – there be, to exist

él, ella – habrá

Haber in Presente is hay, and in Futuro Simple it’s habrá. This is an impersonal verb, and always takes the form of the third person singular (él, ella).

En la sala hay una tele

En la sala habrá una tele
