¿De qué forma es la mesa? – What shape is the table?
La mesa es cuadrada – The table is square
¿De qué forma es el espejo? – What shape is the mirror?
El espejo es redondo – The mirror is round
Deis a preposition and can be literally translated as “of”.
Shapes:
cuadrado – square
rectangular – rectangular
redondo – round
ovalado – oval
triangular – triangular

There is another, more extended, way of responding to these questions.
El espejo es redondo
El espejo es de forma redonda
La ventana es cuadrada
La ventana es de forma cuadrada
In the extended answers the adjective is connected to the word forma. So, those adjectives that end in -o in the neutral form, should always end in -a.
El espejo es de forma redonda can be literally translated as “The mirror is of the round shape”.

To ask about the material we are going to use these two questions.
a. ¿De qué material es? – What material is it (made) from?
b. ¿De qué es? – What is it (made) of?
¿De qué material es la mesa? – What material is the table made from?
La mesa es de madera – The table is made from wood
¿De qué es el vaso? – What is the glass made of?
El vaso es de cristal – The glass is made of glass

cristal (or vidrio) — glass

These words are not adjectives. They are nouns. The ending doesn’t change. However, sentences with materials can sometimes be translated into English using corresponding adjectives.
La mesa es de madera – The table is wooden

When talking about colors it’s also possible to use extended sentences.

The combination used here looks like this: de color + adjective. The gender of the adjective should always be masculine, because it’s connected to the noun color, which is masculine.
